The Italian Cybersecurity Gamification

Italian Hacker Camp

The Italian Cybersecurity Gamification

Speakers:

Marco Squarcina

In this talk we report on CyberChallenge.IT, the first Italian training program in cybersecurity for high-school and undergraduate students. We discuss how the project spread throughout the whole country by evolving into a joint effort of 8 Italian universities after the 2017 pilot in Rome. The initiative proved to be the breeding ground for new hacking teams in Italy and helped to strengthen the ties between the academic world and CTF competitions. We conclude by presenting some technical challenges faced by participants during the CTF organized for the final local and national events.
